I’ve been posting bits and pieces of news here and there as they come, but I decided it’s time to round up all the information. So just what do we know about series two of Canada’s number one fan produced Doctor Who audio, Dark Journey?
Joshua Hemming, pictured far left, joins the crew for series 2
Audio:
Sound designer Joshua Hemming will be joining the crew this time around. From AM Audiomedia.com:
“Joshua Hemming brings a wealth of sound recording/production experience that will bring music to listeners ears…”
But what can the listeners expect from series 2 itself?
Roy Miranda and Andrew Chalmers very into character
“Dark Journey Series 2 features a completely unexpected turn of events for Holmes and his companion The Doctor. The story changes a lot from the blood soaked streets of 18th century White Chapel to a subterranean supernatural hell storm where the stakes have never been higher for our heroes. Sherlock Holmes is forced to confront his past and faces his worst weaknesses and fears as we discover a lot of things about the Doctors past that he would rather no one knew.” – Andrew Chalmers Writer/Actor Dark Journey
MA Tamburro and new comer Joshua Hemming
“Everything about Series two is big. Bigger stories, bigger characters, bigger sound. Dark Journey had a heck of a start with our initial 5 episode run but the next five feature a super action packed, funny, emotional Doctor, as so skillfully scripted by our writer Andrew Chalmers who also plays the troubled Timelord. Our key cast members make a memorable return as well as a few guest cameos that you’ll have to hear to believe. Who will live? Who will die? Who nose!” – MA Tamburro Producer/Director Dark Journey
Series 2 finished recording earlier this month and is now in post production. Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the release!

It starts with An Unearthly Child at 7PM UK time (2PM EST) on the 23rd and finishes with War Games episode 10 at 8 PM UK.
The event, dubbed “From Totters Lane to Time Lords”, will also feature some very unique prizes. It’s time to rock the vote and the Doctor needs your help. Andrew Chalmers and the cast and crew of Doctor Who Dark Journey have made the long list for this years Audio Verse Awards.
So just what are the Audio Verse Awards? From their website:
“The Audio Verse Awards is dedicated to celebrating the best in free audio drama. It started as a thread on audiodramatalk, ballooned to a facebook group, then shrunk to these dedicated people (Landon Beall, Alex Gilmour, Gwendolyn Jensen-Woodard, Colin Kelly and Dan Whitelaw) who sat down and helped make the Audio Verse Awards a reality in 2013.”
This year AM Audio Media has 12 nominations for Doctor Who Dark Journey. Your votes today can move them from the long list to the short list. Voting ends November 17th at 11:59 PM.
So why don’t you take a few minutes and give the Cool Beans Doctor and the people who made the show so great a vote to show your appreciation! Vote now!
No, we aren’t talking about Mayor Rob Ford, or even his brother Doug, we are talking about Phil Ford, writer of The Waters Of Mars (the best story during the gap year perhaps) and series 8’s Into The Dalek. Phil will be in Toronto on November 15th appearing exclusively at this DWIN event.
Here’s what they are offering:
Saturday November 15th, join us for Who Party: A Day With Phil Ford. Starting at 12pm at Pauper’s Pub at the corner of Bloor and Bathurst, you can meet the writer of ‘Into the Dalek’, ‘Waters of Mars’ and writer/producer for the Sarah Jane Adventures. We’ll ask Phil what it’s like to write a Doctor Who script, his experiences working with RTD and Moffatt, working on Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood. And there’s more! A fan Q&A with Phil, autograph session and a Doctor Who darts competition! 6 hours of fun for the price of seeing Deep Breath in the movie theatre! This is rare opportunity to meet a man who has worked on all 4 shows in the Doctor Who universe without the lineups and hassle of a major con.
So, if you are in the area or willing to make the trek, come on down and have some fun at the Who Party! For tickets or more info check out their website http://www.dwin.org/whoparty/
